Facade repairs, masonry restoration, waterproofing, roofing, parapet work, scaffolding and public-protection support for buildings throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island.
NYC’s Facade Inspection & Safety Program (FISP), commonly called Local Law 11, applies to buildings higher than six stories. Exterior walls and appurtenances must be inspected every five years, and the technical report must be filed through DOB NOW: Safety by a DOB-approved Qualified Exterior Wall Inspector (QEWI).
Our role is to help building owners and property managers complete the repair work identified by the QEWI and coordinate the exterior construction scope needed to move the building toward compliance.
DOB states that Unsafe facade conditions must generally be corrected within 90 days after the Unsafe report is filed. If the repair cannot be completed within that period, the QEWI must handle the applicable extension process. After unsafe conditions are corrected, an amended report is required.
SWARMP means Safe With a Repair and Maintenance Program. These conditions are not immediately unsafe, but repairs must be completed by the completion date identified by the QEWI. A condition that remains unrepaired into a later cycle can become an Unsafe condition.
